Clinical Cases Ceramic Crowns

Dental crowns are like a “cap” restoration that surrounds the tooth, allowing it to improve its aesthetic appearance through changes in the color, shape, and volume of the teeth and increasing the resistance of structurally compromised teeth. Ceramic crowns, when correctly executed, are the most aesthetic fixed solution to improve imperfections in terms of color shape, dental positioning and, to recover the resistance of compromised teeth.

Description

They are indicated in situations such as:

  • teeth with extensive restorations
  • teeth submitted to endodontic treatment (root canals)
  • worn or fractured teeth
  • teeth with old restorations

At the António Carracho Institute, the entire process of planning and manufacturing of your ceramic crowns is carried out using the best ceramic materials and the most advanced CAD-CAM technology, which guarantees a perfect fit between ceramic crown and dental preparation.

All technical and laboratory work is carried out to personalize your treatment and achieve the most natural and functional result.

Step by step

  1. Planning: all the data is collected. In this consultation, a digital scan or impression of the teeth is made to plan the temporary restorations and the desired esthetic/functional modifications.
  2. Dental Preparations and Temporary Crowns: teeth are prepared, and immediate temporary crowns are delivered. When indicated, the final mold or scan can also be performed.
  3. Cementation of the Definitive Ceramic Crowns: 7 to 10 days later, the final ceramic crowns are tested, customized, and cemented.
  4. Follow-up: 1 to 2 weeks later, a consultation for evaluation and control is carried out.
